Lanolin & It’s Controversial Nature…

Lanolin is an interesting topic in the world of skincare. Now, for those not in the know, lanolin is a waxy substance extracted from sheep's wool. It's often used in various skincare products for its moisturizing properties. But here's where the plot thickens – it's also quite controversial due to the way it's obtained from our fluffy friends.

Lanolin extraction involves washing the wool of sheep to remove impurities and then extracting the lanolin from the wool. While this might sound harmless, concerns have been raised about the welfare of the sheep involved. Some argue that the process can be stressful and even harmful to the animals. Additionally, there are environmental considerations to take into account.

As someone passionate about skincare and animal welfare, this raised some red flags for me. That's why when I started my own skincare brand, MaGéAu Naturel, I made a conscious decision to steer clear of lanolin. At MaGéAu Naturel, we're all about keeping it vegan and using 100% natural ingredients that are refillable and reusable.
